Primark Launches First High-Street Adaptive Swimwear
Primark is taking another meaningful step in inclusive fashion with the launch of its Spring/Summer Adaptive Collection.
Introducing adaptive swimwear to the high street for the very first time. Designed for people with disabilities or temporary mobility challenges, the collection combines accessibility with style at an affordable price point. Created in collaboration with award-winning adaptive fashion designer Victoria Jenkins, founder of Unhidden, the range focuses on comfort, functionality, and modern design. Key pieces include a sleek black tankini with features like discreet tube access and adjustable waistbands, as well as cargo swim shorts with easy-access openings and spacious pockets.
The swimwear marks the next phase of Primark’s adaptive offering, first introduced in early 2025. Alongside swimwear, the collection includes summer essentials such as T-shirts, linen shorts, co-ords, pyjamas, underwear, and nightwear, all thoughtfully designed to make dressing easier. New additions include an adaptive stoma brief with leak protection technology. This launch is part of Primark’s wider commitment to accessibility, both in product design and in-store experience. Recent initiatives include the introduction of a seated mannequin, developed with disability advocate Sophie Morgan, as well as sensory-friendly kidswear, dedicated sensory shopping hours, and improved accessibility guides across stores.
